Equipment

  • 1 Mixing Bowl For preparing the dough and filling
  • 1 Rolling Pin For rolling out the dough
  • 1 Muffin tin For baking the tarts

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 3/4 cup Unsalted butter Cold, cut into pieces
  • 4-6 tbsp Ice water
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted butter Melted
  • 1 cup Brown sugar Packed
  • 2 Eggs Lightly beaten
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp Vinegar
  • 1 cup Raisins Optional

Instructions
 

  • In a large bowl, mix together flour and salt. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in ice water, one tablespoon at a time, until dough comes together.
  • Wrap in plastic and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
  • Roll out dough on a floured surface and cut into rounds. Fit rounds into muffin tin cups.
  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a bowl, mix melted butter, brown sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, and vinegar until well combined. Stir in raisins if using.
  • Spoon filling into prepared crusts.
  • Bake for 18-20 minutes or until the filling is set and the crust is golden.
  • Cool in the pan on a wire rack.

Notes

You can replace raisins with chopped nuts for an added crunch. Serve warm with a dollop of whipped cream for extra indulgence.
