Ingredients
  

  • 2 1/4 tsp Active dry yeast
  • 1 cup Warm water (110°F or 45°C)
  • 1 tsp Sugar
  • 2 1/2 cups All-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 cup Pizza sauce Homemade or store-bought
  • 2 cups Mozzarella cheese Shredded
  • 1/2 cup Mushrooms Sliced
  • 1/4 cup Bell peppers Sliced
  • 1/4 cup Red onions Thinly sliced
  • To taste Pepperoni slices Optional
  • To taste Olives Sliced

Instructions
 

  • In a small bowl, dissolve sugar in warm water, then sprinkle yeast over the top. Let sit until frothy, about 10 minutes.
  • In a large bowl, combine flour, olive oil, salt, and the yeast mixture. Stir until dough forms.
  • Transfer to a floured surface and knead until smooth and elastic, about 5 minutes.
  • Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise until doubled, about 1 hour.
  • Preheat oven with pizza stone to 475°F (245°C).
  • Punch down dough and roll out on a floured surface to a 12-inch circle.
  • Spread pizza sauce over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
  • Top with mozzarella cheese, mushrooms, bell peppers, red onions, pepperoni (if using), and olives.
  • Transfer pizza to the preheated pizza stone and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until crust is golden and cheese is bubbly.
  • Let cool for a few minutes before slicing. Serve hot.

Notes

Feel free to customize the toppings based on your preferences. Traditional Montreal-style pizza often features a unique blend of local cheeses in addition to mozzarella.
