Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup Unsalted butter Softened
  • 1 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 1 Egg Large
  • 1 1/2 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup Cocoa powder Unsweetened
  • 1/2 tsp Baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 1 cup Dried cherries Chopped
  • 1/2 cup Semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a mixing bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in vanilla extract and egg until well combined.
  • In another bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  • Stir in dried cherries and chocolate chips.
  • Scoop tablespoon-sized amounts of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  • Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the edges are set. Allow to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For extra cherry flavor, consider adding a tablespoon of cherry liqueur to the cookie dough.
