Equipment

  • 1 Mixing bowl For combining ingredients
  • 1 8x8 inch baking pan For baking the brownies
  • 1 Oven Preheated to 350°F (175°C)

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup Butter Melted
  • 1 cup Granulated sugar
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup Unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 1/4 tsp Baking powder
  • 1/2 cup Chocolate chips Optional

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8x8 inch baking pan.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine melted butter and sugar. Stir until well combined.
  • Add eggs and vanilla extract to the butter mixture and mix well.
  • Add cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder. Mix until just combined.
  • Fold in chocolate chips if using.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  • Allow to cool in the pan before cutting into squares.
  • Serve warm or at room temperature.

Notes

For a nutty twist, add 1/2 cup of chopped walnuts to the brownie batter.
