Equipment

  • 1 Mixing Bowl For making the dough
  • 1 Baking Tray For baking the cookies
  • 1 Electric Mixer Optional, for creaming butter and sugar

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup Unsalted butter Room temperature
  • 1 cup White sugar
  • 2 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp Salt

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until smooth.
  • Stir in vanilla extract.
  • Gradually blend in the flour and salt.
  • Roll dough into 1-inch balls and place them on an ungreased baking tray.
  • Flatten each ball slightly with a fork.
  • Bake for 8-10 minutes or until the edges are golden.
  • Allow cookies to cool on the baking tray for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks.

Notes

For an extra touch, sprinkle some sugar on top before baking or dip half of each cookie in melted chocolate.
