Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup Brown sugar Packed
  • 1/4 cup Cornstarch
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 2 3/4 cups Whole milk
  • 3 tbsp Butter Unsalted
  • 2 tsp Vanilla extract

Instructions
 

  • In a saucepan, combine brown sugar, cornstarch, and salt.
  • Gradually whisk in the milk until the mixture is smooth.
  • Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture comes to a boil and thickens.
  • Remove from heat and add butter and vanilla extract, stirring until butter is melted and well combined.
  • Pour the pudding into serving dishes and let it cool to room temperature.
  • Refrigerate until set, about 2 hours, before serving.

Notes

To add a bit of crunch, top with butterscotch chips or chopped nuts before serving.
