Equipment

  • 1 Steamer or a large pot with lid For steaming the egg mixture
  • 1 Bowl For mixing the eggs and water

Ingredients

  • 3 Eggs Lightly beaten
  • 1.5 cups Warm water Or chicken stock for more flavor
  • to taste Salt
  • 1 tsp Light soy sauce Optional, for seasoning
  • 1 tsp Sesame oil Optional, for drizzling
  • 1 tbsp Chopped green onions For garnish

Instructions

  • In a bowl, gently beat the eggs without creating bubbles and mix with warm water and a pinch of salt.
  • Strain the egg mixture to remove clumps and bubbles, ensuring a smooth texture.
  • Pour the mixture into a shallow dish and cover with foil to prevent water droplets from the steam.
  • Place the dish in a steamer or a large pot with a steam rack, cover with lid, and steam over medium heat for about 10-15 minutes.
  • Check doneness by gently shaking the dish; the eggs should be set but jiggle slightly in the center.
  • Drizzle light soy sauce and sesame oil over the steamed egg, garnish with chopped green onions, and serve warm.

Notes

For a more flavorful dish, try using chicken or vegetable stock instead of water.
