Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup Unsalted butter Softened
  • 1 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1 cup Brown sugar Packed
  • 2 Large eggs Room temperature
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 3 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp Baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 2 cups Chocolate chips

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
  • Dissolve baking soda in hot water. Add to the batter along with salt.
  • Stir in flour and chocolate chips. Drop by large spoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheets.
  • Bake for about 10-12 minutes in the preheated oven, or until edges are nicely browned.
  • Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For extra chewy cookies, use a mix of bread flour and all-purpose flour, and chill the dough for at least an hour before baking.
