  • 1 Mixing bowl
  • 1 9-inch baking pan
  • 1 Whisk

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup Cornmeal
  • 1 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup Sugar
  • 1 tbsp Baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 1/3 cup Vegetable oil
  • 1 Large egg Beaten

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  • In another bowl, whisk together milk, vegetable oil, and the beaten egg.
  • Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  • Grease a 9-inch baking pan and pour in the batter, spreading it out evenly.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy your homemade cornbread!

Notes

For a sweeter variation, add more sugar or drizzle honey on top before baking.
