Equipment

  • 1 Saucepan For making the cream sauce
  • 1 Toaster For toasting bread

Ingredients
  

  • 2 tbsp Butter
  • 2 tbsp All-purpose flour
  • 1 cup Milk Preferably whole milk
  • 4 Hard-boiled eggs Peeled and chopped
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Black pepper Freshly ground
  • 4 slices Bread Toasted
  • Parsley Chopped, for garnish (optional)

Instructions
 

  • In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
  • Stir in the flour and cook, stirring constantly, for about 1-2 minutes to form a roux.
  • Gradually whisk in the milk, and cook until the sauce has thickened and is smooth.
  • Add the chopped hard-boiled eggs to the sauce, season with salt and black pepper to taste, and cook until the eggs are warmed through.
  • Toast the bread slices to your desired level of crispiness.
  • Spoon the creamed eggs over the toasted bread slices.
  • Garnish with chopped parsley, if desired, and serve immediately.

Notes

For a richer flavor, substitute half of the milk with cream.
