This Cuban Egg Sandwich is a delightful breakfast option that brings together the flavors of ham, cheese, and a perfectly fried egg, all within a crispy Cuban bread.

Equipment

  • 1 Non-stick skillet For frying the egg
  • 1 Panini press For pressing the sandwich

Ingredients
  

  • 2 slices Cuban bread Halved
  • 4 slices Ham Thinly sliced
  • 2 slices Swiss cheese
  • 2 Eggs Fried
  • 4 slices Pickles Optional
  • 2 tbsp Butter Softened

Instructions
 

  • Butter the outside of the Cuban bread slices.
  • Layer ham, Swiss cheese, and pickle slices (if using) on one slice of bread.
  • Fry eggs in a non-stick skillet until cooked to your preference.
  • Place the fried egg on top of the cheese and ham layer.
  • Top with the other bread slice, buttered side facing out.
  • Press the sandwich in a panini press until the bread is crispy and the cheese has melted.
  • Serve hot and enjoy your Cuban Egg Sandwich with optional salsa on the side.

Notes

For a vegetarian option, replace ham with roasted vegetables like bell peppers and mushrooms.
