This simple recipe lets you create delicious fruit Danish pastries, perfect for breakfast or dessert, using a flaky pastry base topped with creamy custard and fresh fruits.

Equipment

  • 1 Baking sheet For baking the pastries
  • 1 Pastry brush For brushing the egg wash

Ingredients
  

  • 1 pack Frozen puff pastry Thawed
  • 1 Egg Beaten, for egg wash
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 2 tbsp Sugar
  • 1 tbsp Cornstarch Mixed with 2 tbsp water
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 1 cup Mixed fresh fruits Sliced
  • 1 tbsp Apricot jam Melted, for glazing

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Roll out the thawed puff pastry and cut into 8 squares.
  • Fold the corners of each square towards the center, pressing down gently.
  • Brush the edges with beaten egg for the egg wash.
  • In a saucepan, heat milk and sugar until almost boiling.
  • Stir in the cornstarch mixture and vanilla extract, whisking until thickened.
  • Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
  • Spoon a dollop of custard into the center of each pastry square.
  • Place the pastries on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Allow to cool and then top with fresh fruit slices.
  • Brush the fruits with melted apricot jam for a glossy finish.
  • Serve and enjoy.

Notes

You can use any fresh fruit of your choice like berries, kiwi, or peach for topping.
