  • 1 Mixing bowl For making the marinade

Ingredients
  

  • 1 kg Beef short ribs Flanken-style cut
  • 1/2 cup Soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup Brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup Sesame oil
  • 4 cloves Garlic Minced
  • 1 tbsp Ginger Grated
  • 1/4 cup Pear juice Or grated pear
  • 1 tbsp Rice vinegar
  • to taste Black pepper

Instructions
 

  • In a mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, pear juice, rice vinegar, and black pepper.
  • Add beef short ribs to the marinade, ensuring they are well-coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight.
  • Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  • Remove beef from the marinade and let excess marinade drip off.
  • Grill the beef short ribs for about 3-4 minutes per side, or until cooked to desired doneness.
  • Serve hot with steamed rice and Korean side dishes.

Notes

For a more tender beef, use the Korean method of scoring the meat with shallow cuts before marinating.
