Homemade Egg McMuffin Recipe

Enjoy making this classic fast-food breakfast sandwich at home. This Egg McMuffin recipe combines a perfectly cooked egg, melty cheese, and Canadian bacon, all sandwiched between a toasted English muffin.

Equipment

  • 1 Non-stick skillet For cooking the egg and Canadian bacon
  • 1 Toaster For toasting the English muffin

Ingredients
  

  • 1 slice Canadian bacon
  • 1 large Egg
  • 1 slice American cheese
  • 1 English muffin, split Preferably whole wheat
  • to taste Salt and pepper

Instructions
 

  • Toast the English muffin to your liking.
  • Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Cook the Canadian bacon on one side until lightly browned, then flip to cook the other side. Remove and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, crack an egg and gently break the yolk. Season with salt and pepper. Cook until the whites are set and the yolk is cooked to your preference.
  • Place the slice of cheese on one half of the toasted English muffin.
  • Place the cooked egg on top of the cheese, then add the Canadian bacon.
  • Top with the other half of the English muffin.
  • Serve warm and enjoy your homemade Egg McMuffin.

Notes

For a healthier version, use a whole wheat English muffin and swap the American cheese for a low-fat option.
