  • 1 Baking sheet Lined with parchment paper
  • 1 Mixing Bowl For preparing the dough

Ingredients
  

  • 2 1/4 tsp Active dry yeast
  • 1/4 cup Warm water
  • 1 cup Warm milk
  • 1/2 cup Sugar
  • 1/4 cup Butter Melted
  • 1 Egg Beaten
  • 4 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1 cup Fruit preserves Any preferred type
  • 1 Egg For egg wash

Instructions
 

  • In a bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water and let stand until foamy, about 5 minutes.
  • Add warm milk, sugar, melted butter, beaten egg, and salt. Mix to combine.
  • Gradually add flour and knead until a soft dough forms. Let rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  • Punch down dough and divide into 12 equal parts. Shape each piece into a ball, then flatten into circles on the baking sheet.
  • Place a spoonful of fruit preserves in the center of each circle.
  • Beat an egg and brush the edges of the dough with the egg wash.
  • Bake in preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Serve warm or at room temperature.

Notes

Experiment with different fillings like cheese or sausage for a savory version.
