Equipment

  • 1 Pot For cooking the porridge
  • 1 Knife For preparing abalone

Ingredients
  

  • 2 whole Abalone Cleaned and diced
  • 1 cup Short grain rice Rinsed and drained
  • 6 cups Water Or beef broth for richer flavor
  • 2 tbsp Sesame oil
  • 1 tsp Salt To taste
  • to garnish Sesame seeds
  • to garnish Chopped green onion

Instructions
 

  • Heat sesame oil in a pot over medium heat.
  • Add diced abalone and sauté for 2-3 minutes until they begin to turn opaque.
  • Add rinsed rice to the pot and continue sautéing for an additional 3 minutes.
  • Pour in the water or broth and bring to a boil.
  • Reduce heat to low and let it simmer, stirring occasionally, for about 30-40 minutes, until the rice is soft and the porridge thickens.
  • Season with salt to taste.
  • Serve warm, garnished with sesame seeds and chopped green onion.

Notes

For added flavor, you can also include a dash of soy sauce or fish sauce while cooking the porridge.
