Follow this recipe to prepare delicious Hobakjeon, a traditional Korean dish made with slices of zucchini, lightly battered and pan-fried to perfection.

Equipment

  • 1 Frying pan For frying the zucchini
  • 1 Mixing Bowl For preparing the batter

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1 cup Water Cold
  • 1 Egg Beaten
  • 1/2 tsp Salt Adjust to taste
  • 2 medium Zucchini Sliced into rounds
  • to taste Salt For sprinkling on zucchini
  • as needed Vegetable oil For frying

Instructions
 

  • Sprinkle salt on both sides of the zucchini slices and set aside for 10 minutes. Pat dry with paper towels.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine flour, cold water, beaten egg, and salt to make a smooth batter.
  • Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  • Dip each zucchini slice into the batter, ensuring both sides are coated.
  • Fry the battered zucchini slices in the pan until golden brown on both sides.
  • Remove from pan and drain on paper towels. Serve hot.

Notes

Serve with soy sauce or a dipping sauce of your choice to enhance the flavor.
