Korean Mandu (Dumplings) Recipe

Equipment

  • 1 Mixing Bowl For mixing the filling
  • 1 Pan For frying the dumplings
  • 1 Steamer Optionally for steaming the dumplings

Ingredients
  

  • 200 g Ground beef or pork
  • 1 cup Cabbage Finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup Onion Finely chopped
  • 2 Garlic cloves Minced
  • 1 tbsp Soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp Sesame oil
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Black pepper
  • 30 Wonton wrappers

Instructions
 

  • In a bowl, combine ground meat, cabbage, onion, garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  • Place a small spoonful of filling in the center of each wonton wrapper.
  • Fold the wrapper over the filling to create a half-moon shape, sealing the edges with a dab of water.
  • Heat a pan over medium heat, add some oil, and pan-fry the dumplings until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  • Alternatively, steam the dumplings for 10 minutes if preferred.
  • Serve hot with dipping sauce of choice.

Notes

For a vegetarian version, use tofu or mushrooms instead of ground meat.
