Follow this recipe to prepare delicious Snickerdoodles, a popular cinnamon-sugar coated cookie that is slightly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup Unsalted butter Softened
  • 1/2 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup Brown sugar
  • 1 Large egg
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp Baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp Cream of tartar
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 1/4 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp Ground cinnamon

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add the egg and vanilla extract and mix until incorporated.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, cream of tartar, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  • In a small bowl, combine the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon for the coating.
  • Roll the dough into 1-inch balls, then roll each ball in the cinnamon-sugar mixture to coat.
  • Place the coated balls on the prepared baking sheet, about 2 inches apart.
  • Bake for 8-10 minutes, until the edges are set but the centers are still soft.
  • Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For a festive twist, try adding a pinch of nutmeg or cloves to the cinnamon-sugar coating.
