Thai Basil Egg Stir-Fry Recipe

Equipment

  • 1 Wok or large skillet For stir-frying
  • 1 Spatula For scrambling the eggs

Ingredients
  

  • 4 Eggs Lightly beaten
  • 2 tbsp Oil For stir-frying
  • 4 cloves Garlic Finely chopped
  • 1 cup Thai basil leaves Packed
  • 2 tbsp Soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp Fish sauce
  • 1 tsp Oyster sauce
  • 1 tsp Sugar
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Black pepper

Instructions
 

  • Heat the oil in a wok or large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Add the chopped garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
  • Pour in the beaten eggs and scramble gently until they are just set.
  • Add the soy sauce, fish sauce, oyster sauce, and sugar. Stir well to combine.
  • Toss in the Thai basil leaves and stir-fry for another minute until the basil is wilted.
  • Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
  • Serve hot with steamed rice or on its own.

Notes

For a spicier version, add sliced chili peppers when sautéing the garlic.
