Equipment

  • 1 Baking sheet For baking the cookies
  • 1 Mixing bowl For preparing the dough

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup Butter Softened
  • 1/2 cup Sugar Granulated
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla extract
  • 2 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup Jam Flavor of choice

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a mixing bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Mix in vanilla extract, then gradually add flour, beating until just combined.
  • Roll dough into 1-inch balls and place on prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  • Use your thumb to make an indentation in the center of each ball.
  • Fill each indentation with about 1/2 teaspoon of jam.
  • Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until edges are lightly golden.
  • Let cool on baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

To switch up the flavors, use different types of jam or preserves like raspberry, apricot, or strawberry.
