BLT Sandwich with a Fried Egg Recipe

Equipment

  • 1 Skillet For frying the bacon and egg
  • 1 Toaster For toasting the bread

Ingredients
  

  • 2 slices Bacon Preferably thick-cut
  • 1 leaf Lettuce Such as romaine or iceberg
  • 2 slices Tomato
  • 2 slices Bread Your choice of bread
  • 1 Egg Fried to your preference
  • 1 tbsp Mayonnaise Optional

Instructions
 

  • Fry the bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy, then set aside on paper towels to drain excess fat.
  • In the same skillet, fry the egg to your liking (recommendation: sunny side up or over easy).
  • Toast the bread slices until golden brown.
  • Spread mayonnaise on one side of each bread slice, if using.
  • On one slice of bread, layer the lettuce, tomato slices, crispy bacon, and top with the fried egg.
  • Cover with the second slice of bread, mayo side down, and gently press together.
  • Slice the sandwich in half, if desired, and serve immediately.

Notes

For a healthier version, use turkey bacon and whole grain bread. You can also add avocado for extra creaminess.
