Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound breakfast sausage, crumbled
  • 6 large eggs
  • 2 cup whole milk
  • 1 tsp dry mustard
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 6 cup cubed bread (such as French or Italian)
  • 1 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • Optional: chopped bell peppers, mushrooms, and/or onions

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • In a large skillet, cook sausage over medium heat until browned and cooked through. Drain excess grease.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, dry mustard, salt, and black pepper.
  • Stir in the cubed bread, cooked sausage, shredded cheese, and any optional vegetables.
  • Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and press down lightly to ensure even coverage.
  • Bake for 45-50 minutes or until set and golden brown on top. Allow the casserole to cool for 5-10 minutes before slicing and serving.
