Ingredients

  • 2 cup cooked white rice
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 2 green onions, thinly sliced
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Optional toppings: roasted seaweed strips, sesame seeds, and Sriracha sauce

Instructions

  • In a medium-sized bowl, whisk the eggs until well beaten. Set aside.
Heat vegetable oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced green onions and minced garlic, and sauté for about 2 minutes or until fragrant.
  • Pour the whisked eggs into the skillet and cook, stirring constantly to create soft curds. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Once the eggs are almost cooked, add the cooked rice to the skillet. Mix gently to combine the rice and eggs.
  • Drizzle in the soy sauce and sesame oil, stirring to ensure the rice and eggs are evenly coated with the seasonings.
  • Continue cooking the Gyeran Bap for another 1-2 minutes, or until the rice is heated through and the flavors are well combined.
  • Remove the skillet from the heat and transfer the Gyeran Bap to serving bowls. Top with optional toppings like roasted seaweed strips, sesame seeds, or a drizzle of Sriracha sauce for a spicy kick.
  • Serve immediately and enjoy your delicious Korean Gyeran Bap!
