  • 1 Oven-safe skillet For caramelizing apples and baking the tart
  • 1 Rolling pin For rolling out the pastry

Ingredients
  

  • 1 sheet Puff pastry Thawed
  • 6 medium Apples Peeled, cored, and quartered
  • 1/2 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup Unsalted butter Cubed
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In an oven-safe skillet, melt the butter and sugar over medium heat until a golden caramel forms.
  • Add the apples, vanilla extract and cook until apples are caramelized, about 10 minutes.
  • Roll out the puff pastry and place it over the apples, tucking the edges around the fruit.
  • Transfer the skillet to the oven and bake for 25-30 minutes or until the pastry is golden brown.
  • Carefully invert the tart onto a plate before serving.
  • Serve warm, optionally with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Notes

For extra flavor, you can add a pinch of cinnamon to the apples while they caramelize.
