  • 1 Mixing Bowl For combining ingredients

Ingredients
  

  • 1 loaf French bread Cut into cubes
  • 8 Eggs
  • 2 cups Milk
  • 1/2 cup Heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup Brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp Vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp Ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp Nutmeg
  • to taste Salt
  • 1/2 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup Brown sugar
  • 1 tsp Ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp Nutmeg
  • 1/4 cup Unsalted butter Cold and diced

Instructions
 

  • Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish and place the bread cubes in the dish.
  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, brown sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt until well combined.
  • Pour the egg mixture evenly over the bread cubes. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight for best results.
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a small mixing bowl, prepare the topping by combining the flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cold diced butter. Use a fork or pastry cutter to blend the mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  • Sprinkle the topping evenly over the soaked bread.
  • Bake the casserole in the preheated oven for 45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the center is set.
