Perfect for dinner parties, family nights, or when you simply crave something out-of-the-ordinary, mastering the Montreal-style Pizza recipe is a culinary adventure worth undertaking.
Tips to make the Montreal-style Pizza recipe:
1. Achieve the Perfect Crust: The secret to an authentic Montreal-style pizza is in its crust. Aim for a dough that’s slightly sweet and boil it briefly in honey-water before baking. This gives the crust that distinct chewy texture with a hint of sweetness, much like a Montreal bagel.

2. Use High-Quality Cheese: Opt for a good quality mozzarella, and don’t be shy to mix in a bit of cheddar for an added flavor depth. The right cheese blend will melt perfectly, complementing the toppings and crust.
3. Select Signature Toppings: Although toppings can vary based on preference, traditionally Montreal-style pizza features a generous amount of pepperoni, mushrooms, and green bell peppers. Feel free to get creative but remember, the key is generosity.
4. Spice it up: Don’t forget the spices that give Montreal-style pizza its distinctive flavor. A sprinkle of sesame seeds on the crust’s edge and a sparing use of smoked paprika can elevate the taste to the next level.
5. Proper Baking Technique: Bake your pizza at a high temperature to ensure the crust cooks through and the cheese gets that perfect golden-brown finish. A pizza stone can be a valuable tool for achieving that ideal crispy bottom.
