Maple and Bacon Dutch Baby

Maple and Bacon Dutch Baby Recipe

If you crave a unique and delightful breakfast, the Maple and Bacon Dutch Baby is a must-try! This fluffy, oven-baked pancake is infused with the irresistible flavors of crispy bacon and sweet maple syrup. It’s a simple yet impressive dish that’s perfect for any morning, whether you’re rushing through the week or enjoying a relaxing weekend brunch.

Tips to Make the Maple and Bacon Dutch Baby Recipe:

1. Use a Cast-Iron Skillet: For the best results, use a cast-iron skillet. It heats evenly and helps create a perfectly crispy edge on your Dutch Baby. Make sure to preheat the skillet in the oven before pouring the batter to achieve the best texture.

2. Cook Bacon in Advance: To save time, cook the bacon ahead of time. You can either fry it up in a pan or bake it in the oven until it’s crisp. Once cooked, crumble the bacon and set it aside so it’s ready to sprinkle over the Dutch Baby.

3. Warm Ingredients: Room temperature ingredients mix better and result in a fluffier Dutch Baby. Take the eggs, milk, and butter out of the fridge about 30 minutes before you start preparing the batter.

4. Don’t Overmix Batter: When combining the ingredients, mix just until smooth. Overmixing can result in a denser pancake, which we want to avoid. A few small lumps in the batter are perfectly fine.

5. Serve Immediately: Dutch Babies are best enjoyed fresh out of the oven. They can deflate quickly, so have your toppings—like maple syrup and extra bacon—ready to go and serve as soon as it’s done!
